Adam Playford is the Times’ deputy editor overseeing the newspaper's investigations team.

Playford came to the Times in 2015 to help reboot the paper’s data journalism team. In recent years he has also frequently taught journalism courses as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Florida.

Playford came to the Times from Newsday, where was an investigative reporter and was part of a team that was a nominated finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in Public Service for reporting on police misconduct.
